Primed boards are specially processed boards suitable for painting paintings and icons with egg tempera, oil and tempera paints.
ARTS primed boards are a natural product made of high-quality fir wood. The primer is left to dry naturally, which provides strength and durability. Natural cracks, the presence of resin and other characteristic features are possible!

The wooden drawing boards are made of perfectly smooth and scratch-free surface of fir and linden. They have a high density, therefore they do not bend and are resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations. The primer used for their treatment not only reduces the absorbency of the boards and prevents the fragility of the pattern, but also creates a white and clean base on which the applied colors remain transparent and fresh.

In order to keep the paints on the icon depicted on the primed board clean and unchanged, after the completion of the drawing, its surface must be varnished with a suitable protective layer of colorless varnish.
