Linseed oil is a traditionally used vegetable solvent for oil painting. It serves to dilute paints and increase the brightness and brilliance of their colors.
Linseed oil for painting “Winsor & Newton” has a yellowish tint and a soft glossy finish. It is used to dilute thick oil paints, which not only makes it easier to apply and erase traces of the brush used, but also increases the transparency and depth of the applied layers. When diluted with turpentine , it is ideal for glazes and fine details. When drying, it tends to slightly yellow, therefore it is not advisable to mix it with white and light tones.
Winsor & Newton’s Linseed Stand Oil, intended for artistic purposes, is available in a 75 ml bottle.
