Gum arabic is a traditionally used plant additive for watercolor painting. It serves as a base or binder of paints and increases the transparency of their colors.
Arabica gum from Winsor & Newton has a pale yellowish tint. It dries slowly, increasing runtime and color spread in wet-to-wet techniques. It is used as a base on which water-soluble dyes are applied and increases their depth, shine and transparency.
Designed for artistic purposes, Winsor & Newton’s Gum Arabica Arabic is available in a 75 ml bottle.
