4021 Reducer is a thinner designed to dilute water-soluble acrylic paints. It is transparent in appearance and does not change color when mixed with paint.

This thinner is compatible with all Createx paints and varnishes and is recommended precisely for their dilution.

Mixing
4021 Reducer is usually added in a ratio of 10% to 30% of the paint volume.

• Spray gun (spray): Usually about 10% of the volume is added to achieve good spraying with a 1.2 – 1.3 mm nozzle and recommended inlet pressure.

• Airbrush: Usually 10 – 30% of the volume, depending on the type of paint, nozzle size, pressure and personal preference.

For optimal results, allow the mixture to sit for at least 10 minutes after adding 4021 Reducer to allow the ethylene glycol to adapt to the paint before spraying. The 4021 Reducer reduces the surface tension of water by improving spreading and smooth finishing.

If you are using 4030 Balancing Clear with the paints, mix the 4030 with the paint first, and then add the 4021 Reducer. Stir gently – do not shake.

Shelf life and storage
4021 Reducer can be added to all Createx paints and stored indefinitely. The diluted mixture remains in good condition for spraying for weeks, even months, if stored airtight, in a cool, dry place, away from direct light.

Comparison with 4011 Reducer and other thinners
Compared to older Createx thinners, the 4021 Reducer has a slower evaporation time, which reduces the risk of nozzle clogging when airbrushing.
