Venetian turpentine is a traditionally used vegetable solvent for oil painting. It serves to dilute and dissolve oil paints and increases the gloss, transparency and elasticity of their colors.
Maimeri’s Venetian turpentine contains natural wood balm and turpentine oil. It has a thick consistency with a golden hue and can be diluted with ordinary turpentine. It evaporates slowly and increases both the drying time of the paints and their durability. In addition to increasing the transparency of colors, Venetian turpentine can be used as a thinner to clean brushes and palettes from oil residues.
The Venetian turpentine of “Maimeri” is available in a glass bottle with a capacity of 75 ml. The medium is highly flammable, therefore it must be stored in a dark place, in a tightly closed container.
