Damar varnish is a final varnish for oil painting, creating a protective layer of oil paintings.
Damar varnish “Vernice Damar” of the Italian company “Maimeri” is composed of a mixture of solvents and damar resin. It has a thick consistency with a slight golden hue, and when dry, it tends to turn yellow. It is used both to increase the durability of paintings and to increase the brightness and transparency of their colors.
Damar varnish from “Maimeri” is available in a package with a capacity of 100 Ml. The medium is highly flammable, therefore it should be kept out of reach of children and stored in a dark place, in a tightly closed container.
